A panoramic road that is worth of visit

This panoramic route is suitable even for people that have fear for heights. The 14,5km long road mainly runs in the middle of the forest and the route isn’t too steep. The maximum gradient is 10% and it takes approximately 15 minutes to drive up. The parking place is 1883m over sea level. The price for toll is 14€/ car and 8€ / motorbike. The route is open from the middle of May until the end of October, every day between 8.30 – 17.00. There is no time limit for leaving so the boom will be open.

You will find several hiking routes starting from the parking place and Goldeck is also suitable for families that hike with children. If you want to stay overnight during your trip you have many rentable alpine huts to choose. To mention couple of the activities; geocaching and mushroom trail.

To get up you can also use the lifts that start from the side of Spittal a.d. Drau.

Lift 1 Goldeckbahn = Talstation 550m – Mittelstation 1640m – Bergstation 2059m

  • departure every 20 minutes
  • travel time Talstation – Mittelstation 9 minutes and Mittelstation – Bergstation 4 minutes
  • dogs must wear a muzzle

Opening times for lift:

  • 2.6 – 1.10 daily between 9-17
  • 6-8.10 and 13-15.10 klo 9 -17
